Hidden beneath the San Francisco Bay Bridge sits a three-story mansion known as the Nimitz House. It was the final home of Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, Commander in Chief, US Pacific Fleet, and Commander in Chief, Pacific Ocean Areas, commanding Allied air, land, and sea forces during World War II. Tragically, the house has been neglected by the city of San Francisco and fallen into disrepair.
