I just finished watching a fascinating interview with Bill Browder, a hedge fund manager turned human rights advocate (and grandson Earl Browder, General Secretary of the CPUSA). Browder discusses his investing career in Russia, the massive corruption his team of attorneys uncovered, his blacklisting by the Russian government, the murder of one of his attorney’s, Sergei Magnitsky and the quest for justice in the case, and the current state of affairs in Russia, including comments on the Boris Nemtsov murder. Browder is not optimistic about Russia’s future, at least not while Vladimir Putin is still in power, but his observations are the most insightful commentary on the current situation that I have found. I highly recommend watching the video.
