The government of Poland has decided that facing sanctions is far preferable to accepting migrants as part of the EU’s quota scheme. Interior Minister of Poland, Mariusz Błaszczak has said that inviting 6,000 migrants into Poland would “certainly be much worse” than sanctions, citing the terror attacks that have plagued Western Europe.
The vast majority of Poles oppose the importation of migrants into Poland. Most migrants are disinterested in Poland anyway because of the virtually non-existent welfare benefits when compared to Germany or Sweden for example.
