I’m proud to announce that I have joined the Freedom Institute (Instytut Wolności) in Warsaw as an expert on American politics. The term “expert” is one I’m not entirely comfortable with, expecially when the saying “the more you learn the more you realize how little you know” seems truer by the day. I have however been a close observer of the American society and politics for over fifteen years, basically since the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, which coincided with the first few weeks of my freshman year in college. I had the unique fortune to be able to work at the Hoover Institution, one of, if not the non-governmental organization most uniquely tied to American history and politics in the 20th century, for thirteen of those years.
Since moving to Warsaw in 2014, coupled with regular trips back to California, I think my perspective on similarities, differences and overall relations between the two countries is quite unique. I look forward to continuing to share my views, as I have already started to do in writing about Poland’s future and the reasons for the ascent of Donald Trump.
I am humbled to be a member of the Freedom Institute, an organization that is doing great work in preparing Poland’s future elites through its leadership school, and other endeavors.
