We live in troubling times. The racially-charged halftime show at the Super Bowl was the latest example of the main-streaming of anti-law-enforcement sentiment. It’s heartening to see that some of our men in blue aren’t scared of the hyper politically-correct environment that we live in. Captain Higgins of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office reminds us of his number one job, to protect his community from vicious criminals, while also demonstrating the racial and patriotic American unity that less savory characters in our society seek to undermine.
