During the Republican National Convention in Cleveland I attended the “Wake Up!” party which focused on raising LGBT awareness of the dangers posed to them by Islam (made painfully obvious at the Orlando Massacre) and the fact that Donald Trump is a far greater defender of their rights and lives than Hillary Clinton could ever hope to be. The main speakers at the event were: Milo Yiannopoulos (host of the event), the flamboyant, articulate and passionate defender of freedom of speech, personal freedom and smiter of social justice warriors, cultural Marxists and assorted leftist thought police of every stripe: Geert Wilders, the Dutch politician, and forceful champion of Western Civilization whose fierce criticism of the Islamization of his country and Europe means that he needs 24/7 security or he’d be dead: Pamela Gellar, the anti-Sharia and Islamization activist who also needs round-the-clock security: The energy in the crowd was palpable, and one can argue that the stakes have never been higher for the United States. “Wake Up!” was a seminal event in that it brought together disparate elements of American society, not just from the Right, to focus on the danger posed by the external threat of Islam and the internal cancer of leftist progressivism. Besides the powerful speeches it was a priviliege for me to meet people like Mike Cernovich, the authority on mindset and now boundary-pushing journalist, as well as Peter Brimelow, the courageous editor of VDare.com, the premier immigration patriot website. There are no guarantees that Donald Trump will win in November, the mass media will lie, attack and propagandize on behalf of Hillary Clinton in every way imaginable and novel. Whatever happens though the GOP will never be the same. The party will either be transformed or a new, authentic American party will rise out of its ashes. Creative destruction at its finest.
