On March 22, 2016 three suicide bombers wreaked havoc in Belgium, targeting the Brussels Airport and a busy, downtown metro station blocks away from the European Union headquarters. The Islamic State appears to be more capable than ever to launch attacks directly at the heart of the continent. Will EU leaders rise to the occasion, or have they revealed their inability to deal with the gravest threat to European security in our lifetimes?
